Do we really believe that prayer changes things? I saw the other day 2 bumper stickers, that caused me to laugh/ roll my eyes. One was a frog (no harm done). There was an acronym F.R.O.G. Full Rely on God. I thought do we do that/ why is there a frog as the mascot? The other was a closed door with the acroynm P.U.S.H. I thought huh, must not be a handle. THEN- Yup (Prayer Until Something Happens). Then it hit me. What is we are walking aroud, trying to pull open door that God has closed? And that we are coming to door and we need to stand at the door and pray until something happens?
Our church is in the midst of a 90 day challenge to Pray Until Something Happens. The roof is damaged and we have been out of the building for 54 weeks. Yes, that is over a year. Throughout this year, I have run from dor to door to try and pull them open. Then what happens? Another door to pull open and nothing has happened, yet. We are about halfway through this challenge. I have learned to slow down. Stop jumping from thing to thing (maybe Im too froggy?). Stand at a closed door and P.U.S.H. I have tried it my way for a year. What happens if I try it God's way?
I am still learning about trusting (relying) full on God. I am learning to pray and let God do what He does best. I would love for you to join me in the next 90 days of prayer. Just conversing with God and drawing closer to Him. To be still and know that He is God. If you will walk through these next days with me, I would love to hear what God is teaching you.
